This Monday I went to a guild meeting and who was our speaker for the evening David Taylor!!!! For those of you who might not know who he is a world renowned quilter. He does the most amazing pictorial quilts, they are positively amazing!!! It was great to hear how he came to being a quilter and some of the techniques and tools he uses. I would have loved to take his class but I was down at the Laurtizen Gardens quilt show helping by being one of the white glovers. David brought not only a wonderful slideshow of his work but he also brought one of my favorite of his quilts, Little S ‘ Tinker, it is the cutest little goat with a flower in his mouth. I wish I could have had a chance to pick his brain. I too am a lover of nature and quilts and love to put both things together. Taking photos helps me to design my quilts as well. To capture a moment in time and bringing that to the world through a quilt in what ever form you do is wonderful. When you get a chance to see what emotions are invoked in the people viewing your quilt is fantastic! Quilting is an art form and like all art is subject to interpretation by the viewer, it may not be what you intention was but that is not always a bad thing.
