Back from the AQS Quilt Show!

Exhausted but happily returned from the AQS Quilt Show in Des Moines, IA, my bag a bit heavier and my camera full of photos.  I wish that I could share the photos however AQS has a very strict policy about posting pictures of the quilts :(  So I guess I will just have to encourage you to attend next year.  There were quilts of all shapes, sizes and techniques, appliqued quilts, modern quilts, traditional quilts, patriotic quilts, pictorial quilts, vendor booths galore that you will find just about anything you might need!

I found a fun booth with some great ladies from the Missouri Quilt Co. that had some templates that will be fun to try out, the great part is they think about efficient use to reduce fabric waste when they develop their template.  Depending on the template you will be able to use with jellyrolls, charm packs, layer cakes, etc.  They have much more than just templates if you get a chance to visit them.

Another place I visited was the Hidden Talents booth that had quilt hangers and stands for all sizes, seasons and themes.  I have seen some of the stands locally in some of the shops but never that much selection, they will be coming to Omaha to the Autumn Festival at the Quest Center on November 17-20, 2011.

After spending a whole day making my way through all the quilts and vendor booths I was exhausted.  I was very glad I went with the Omaha Quilt Guild bus so my tired feet had a chance to recover.  If you have a chance to attend one of AQS shows I would highly recommend it, they did a wonderful job and were very helpful and friendly people!
